The Czech Republic Motorcycle Grand Prix was held in Brno on the first weekend of August 2018, with 187,348 spectators in attendance over the three days from Friday to Sunday.
Given the expected increase in traffic on the D1, increased PRETOL towing services were placed on standby. 'From 3 to 5 August we placed more drivers on standby than usual and concentrated primarily on removing traffic obstructions on the D1,' said Towing Service Manager Petr Endrle, adding that, despite a greater number of broken-down vehicles to be towed away, there were fortunately no serious accidents for the tow truck drivers to deal with. The police also confirmed that they did not have to address any serious problems over the Grand Prix weekend.
